Janika LeMaitre and Betsy Millane  joined the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland on Thursday, March 18.

“My father,” explained LeMaitre, “was the president of a Rotary Club near Perth, so I was attuned to the Rotary mission of service when I moved to Weston. As soon as I reached out, I felt warmly welcomed by the Rotary members, and we’ve already had some great laughs. I clearly see ways I can contribute to our communities, both locally and more broadly.”

Betsy Millane is a Needham resident and a realtor in Wellesley whose instincts for client service were sharpened at an early age by her father, a real estate professional who instilled in Betsy the importance of owning every facet of the transaction for her clients. Millane met Weston-Wayland Rotarians through the Business Networking Series, but she joined because of the Club’s commitment to service.

Janike LeMaitre and Betsy Millane  joined the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland on Thursday, March 18.

Janika LeMaitre is founder of The Better Professional and a podcast host. She is from Perth, Australia and specializes in training protocol and business etiquette. She has served on several local non-profit fundraising committees such as the UnMask Cancer Gala and Catie’s Closet. Her experience spans 18 years in multiple luxury industries between Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, including work for Emirates Airlines, the Four Seasons Hotels, and Long’s Fine Jewelers.

“My father,” explained LeMaitre, “was the president of a Rotary Club near Perth, so I was attuned to the Rotary mission of service when I moved to Weston. As soon as I reached out, I felt warmly welcomed by the Rotary members, and we’ve already had some great laughs. Millane met Weston-Wayland Rotarians through the Business Networking Series, but she joined because of the Club’s commitment to service. Millane serves on the Needham Cultural Council, the Needham-Newton Chamber of Commerce, and The Needham Women’s Club. On her perfect day off, you can find Betsy browsing a good bookstore and exploring new restaurants.

Even before being inducted as a member, Millane joined the Conservation Team and the Public Image team as early ways to contribute to the strength and growth of the Rotary Club.  “In February, I knew this was the group for me when Samantha Burns, a fiery Weston junior, presented her mission to support children with leukemia and the Rotary Club members immediately offered tangible help in reaching much broader audiences of potential donors. These members, the Club, and I share values and commitments to service, so I joined to spend more time with good people on a mission to do just a little more good for our communities.” WW Rotarian Susan Howards encouraged Millane to join Rotary, noting that “Betsy is a master realtor, writer and guru networker. She never says no and is a born Rotarian!”
