On Saturday, May 3, our New Member Committee—led by Chair Valdet Abazi—brought smiles, laughter, and a spirit of service to the residents of the Charles River Center in Wayland. This simple but heartfelt project involved the installation of a brand-new outdoor table and chairs, creating a welcoming space for residents to gather, relax, and connect.

Nicole James and her family rolled up their sleeves and got to work alongside fellow Rotarians, including Stanley David and others from our growing new member team. Kevin Satera, COO of the Charles River Center, joined us for the occasion, expressing his appreciation as residents greeted our volunteers with hugs, handshakes, and genuine joy.

Some of the residents' parents and Vera’s sister Elizete do Carmo were there to lend a hand, making the event even more special. Once the table and chairs were in place, we shared pizza—and plenty of laughter and joyful moments—as we gathered around the new outdoor space.

It was a reminder of the power of small acts—how Rotary, at its best, brings people together and makes a lasting impact in the community.
