We are excited to welcome 4 new members on July 1st, the Rotary New Year! 
 
Jeanne Richardson, Florence Nadagya, Marilyn Hirsch, Tricia Liu were inducted as the newest members of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland on Thursday, July 1.
 
Immediately after inducting them, President Paul announced that all four had volunteered to co-lead the Speakers Series Team along with Susan Howards, another WW Rotarian who joined us in 2021. 
 

Jeanne Richardson

Jeanne Richardson is the CEO and Group Travel Consultant for Blue Dynasty Entertainment and Travel, a travel agency that specializes in travel to international destinations.  She has over 20 years of experience in travel planning, tour management and education.  Since starting the company with her granddaughter, Jeanne has provided leadership and oversight to advance this MBE/WBE company to international markets.  She is a Certified International Tour Director (CITD) and Master Cruise Counselor (MCC).  Jeanne’s background includes social work, higher education, program management and public relations.  She serves in volunteer organizations that support orphanages and schools in Africa and the Caribbean.  She is a board member for the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers, Women in Business, the Shirley-Eustis House Association and several community and business networking organizations. She has a passion for service and enjoys organizing.   
 
Jeanne is a lifelong Boston resident with a husband, 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She also enjoys the love and support of an extended family. Jeanne has been active on the Business Networking Series and is sharing her experience in public relations on the Public Image Team. 
 

Marilyn Hirsch

Originally from Pittsburgh, Marilyn summered in Wellfleet for many years, attended Brandeis University, and then lived in the Back Bay for several years. She and her husband, Cliff, moved to Weston about 27 years ago. Marilyn is a marketing communications writer by profession, which means she creates pieces—digital and print— to help businesses grow by communicating purposefully with their customers, prospects, partners and other stakeholders. In other words, she helps businesses sell, inform, persuade, etc. Her passions include food, cooking (she writes a monthly food column for Weston Neighbors and maintains an Instagram recipe site @needthatrecipe), and yoga. "I’m happy to join this dedicated group of people in service to bettering our community".  Marilyn has already joined us for a workday at Sears Field and has joined the Public Image team.
 

Florence Nagadya

 
Florence Nagadya is a Ugandan by birth and a librarian by profession.  She acquired her 1st degree from Uganda Christian University (UCU) in 2014 in Library and Information Science. She worked at the YMCA as a librarian from 2015-2017. While at YMCA, she pursued a diploma in Human Resource in 2016-2017 from the Uganda Management Institute.  Florence earned an Associates Degree in Human Services from Quincy College in Quincy, MA in 2020 specializing in social work. She will be starting to pursue her Master's in September at Simmons University in Boston. In America, she has worked as a caregiver with elders most of her time and after her graduation worked as a counselor in one of the human services organizations (Walker School of Needham). But currently working as a caregiver with care Resolutions (an agency).
 
Florence is a proud Rotaractor who has served humanity as a Rotaractor in the Rotaract Club of Kampala the Core, Uganda, since 2015. She likes giving back to the community as our Motto goes- Service Above Self.  
 
 

Tricia Liu

Tricia and her family have lived in Weston for 12 years. They have two children, a daughter working as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force, and a son studying at Weston High School. 
 
Tricia has a Master’s degree in Applied Science in Engineering and a Bachelor’s of Engineering. She started her career as a well-published researcher and engineer and holds a dozen patents. She worked halfway to a Ph.D. degree before receiving funding for a startup, MediaChip, for which she was the CEO and co-founder for 7 years. Tricia was recently the Director of Intellectual Property for Olympus Scientific Solutions, and currently, a senior patent agent practicing patent law before the US Patent Office.
 
People know Tricia as being very actively involved in our schools. She proudly helps WEEFC fundraising every year, attends School Committee meetings, and provided research and proposals. She also volunteers in various activities related to band concerts and her children's classes.  A quick list of her Town experience is the following:  Weston Cultural Council, member (4-years, chair for 3); Weston High School Council (current), Weston Middle School Council (2 years), Weston PTO – Outreach subcommittee (2 years, co-chair).  "Joining our Rotary Club to volunteer is such a natural step for me".
