Tim Gavin of Weston is the newest member of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland. According to Richard A. DeVito, Jr, two-time past President, "Tim Gavin has served "so many community organizations in Weston, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, The Weston Scout House Trustees Board, and Weston Soccer. All have been the beneficiaries of his skills and time. Mr. Gavin will uphold the finest traditions of fellowship and community service and spirit that Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Weston & Wayland are known for."

Tim Gavin and his wife Cara have 8 children. He is a serial entrepreneur in the data analytics field and just finished a period correct restoration of their historic house.

"I'm a native of Norwood, MA," said Tim, "and I have been living in Weston for the past ten years with my wife of 16 years, Cara. Cara grew up in Weston and we found a great opportunity to move to her hometown when an old farmhouse came up for sale that would fit our large, and growing family. We currently have 8 children that are all fairly active in town sports and activities. I have been on the committees for the Cub Scouts (since 2012) and Boy Scouts (since 2015), as well as a member of the Weston Scout House Board of Trustees (since 2018). I have had the joy of coaching (and assistant coaching) several of my children in the local soccer program. We just returned from a year abroad in Barcelona and I was looking to re-engage upon my return. Rotary was a natural fit for my interest in continuing to provide service to our local communities and am very excited to start down this new path with so many great like-minded people."

The Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland has been growing wonderfully since the start of 2020 and has -- surprisingly -- accelerated since June. Tim Gavin is the fourth new member since June, and the Club anticipates welcoming three more new members before the end of September.  The Rotary Club welcomes all people, ideas and opportunities to serve our communities.  Please join us for anything that captures your attention, and reach out to our current, past, and future Presidents through president@westonwaylandrotary.org for any reason or with any question.
