Letter from the President

Season's Greetings,

Thank you to all who made payment at the meeting. We also had an opportunity to try out the credit card processing capabilities and it worked out well. Thanks to John, we now have the ability to take meal payments at meetings by credit card.

The holiday party is in one week.

Our count is currently 47 and we have a minimum of 50.

The caterer needs a hard number by the close of business Monday next week.

Please send a reminder to your friends with this cutoff.  The more the merrier!

The members in attendance discussed and voted to begin a monthly campaign of combining all meeting happy dollars collected in a month to a cause of the month. Previously, we have been only allocating one meeting's worth of happy dollars to a cause. In September we chose disaster relief, in October it was the End Polio Now campaign $257.00, in November in honor of World AIDS Day we are sending $114.00 to AGAPE, a program for orphaned children with AIDS.

Please send me your suggestions for causes to support over the next six months. If you know how to use google sheets you can go to the shared document I will create and enter your suggestions there. If it is easier just send me an email with the cause and the month.

We need a December cause so please send me your suggestions so that we can announce it at the Holiday Party.

Our guest speaker was Bob Anthony who is current President of the Wellesley club. He discussed the global grant he is putting together to combat teen depression and the program the Wellesley Interact club is doing.

John gave us an update of the website and he made a request for content for the pages.

Lastly, remind your friends the deadline is Monday for the Holiday Party.

See you then!

Have a great week.

Mark Messina
WWRC President

Meeting Notes:

We discussed our upcoming Holiday Party on the 14th of December and who our caterer will be.

Remember to bring a wrapped gift for the swap and an unwrapped gift for Mary's House.

Many tickets have been sold for the dog house raffle, good response.

Our guest speaker, Bob Anthony, from the Wellesley Rotary discussed their clubs participation in a global grant "Peer Leadership and Depression Prevention Nigeria"

Jan Luchetti also has a list of causes she will share to those interested. We also talked about our future donations for Happy Dollars.
