Note from the President:

Hello Fellow Rotarians,

Please join me in continued well wishes for Phil and Chip in their complete recovery from this weekend's excitement. We were truly blessed both were released from the hospital the same day. Our local first responders did an outstanding job as did Tom, Steve and Rob for making sure our members weren't alone.

This week the Golf Club is booked so our meeting will be at the Tavern. There is a lot to do and we need every member ready, willing and able to lend a hand. Let's keep building on the momentum of the last meeting!

This is the last week of September and the monthly Rising Youth Leadership Award campaign is launching this Thursday with an article in the Crier. We will need to fill a committee to evaluate the nominations for the October awards dinner. October 23 is World Polio Day and it would be great to do something to celebrate the work being done to eradicate polio. The membership committee is meeting this Tuesday morning at 8:00 am to create a membership message which we will share with you at our meeting this Thursday.

Yes, we have a lot going on and there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to make a difference. Make it a great week.

See you Thursday.

Mark Messina
WWRC President

Note from Dick DeVito, Sr.:

I want to thank everyone for making this car show most successful. It was wonderful to  see everyone pitch in and work hard.

We have an exceptional group of people who just showed up and did whatever had to be done.

We also had a great group from Internal, the Boy's Scouts who helped out.

I also want to thank Richard DeVito, Jr. and Brenda for the tremendous amount of work  they did to make this show so successful. Many of you may not be aware of the amount of behind the scenes work  that gets  done.

Thanks to one and all again. Great job!!!

Dick

Meeting Thursday, September 28th at the Josiah Smith Tavern

Good showing of members tonight. Our main topic of discussion was the upcoming car show for this Saturday, September 23rd. We are all scheduled to appear for helping out between 7 and 8 am, coffee and donuts will be provided.

John Marchiony plans on bringing up more information at our next meeting concerning Ryla and recognizing one sophomore from Weston and one sophomore from Wayland. Look for news about this in the Town Crier and Gatehouse Media.

There will be a Comedy Night this Saturday with comedian Jimmy Tingle at the Sandy Burr Gold Club between 7:30 and 11 pm. Tickets are $75.00 per person.

This coming Wednesday will be a special day at Sandy Burr honoring out Fallon Warriors.

There will be a benefit walk around the track at Framingham College University this coming Sunday starting at 10 am. This walk is to benefit the Brain Injury Organization with Chip Bradley helping with sponsorship. Your attendance would be very much appreciated.

We have set up a monthly golf outing for a 1:30 pm start and 9 holes (we could do 18)

The dates are:

October 12, 2017

At Sandy Burr Golf Club, 103 Cochituate Rd., Wayland, MA.

Please put the dates on your calendar. These outings are a great way to spend time with current club members and an even better opportunity to bring guests and share Rotary with potential members.

October 14, 2017 9 am to 4 pm - Weston High School is hosting its annual Pumpkin Fest, a day of autumn celebration and fundraising for Camp Sunshine, a camp for those with physical disabilities. We were wondering if you could send out a message to your members advertising this event, and inviting their children and grandchildren to come! We will have pumpkin carving, face painting, carnival games, raffles, silent auctions, live performances from student bands and organizations, and a costume contest for the children. We hope to see you all there!
