Note from the President:
Hello fellow Rotarians,
Great meeting last week!   There is a lot of pain and devastation around our country today and we have an opportunity to show the great work of Rotary and Rotarians through our actions of service above self.
We have a lot on our plates and it will be a very exciting month to be a Rotarian.
It was wonderful to see our Rotarians on the Town Green today displaying the flags in memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11.  Tom Wintle was at the Weston Fire Station heading the prayer for the moments of silence and the honor of placing the flag at half mast.  Thank you for your time and service to this touching memorial.
Our District Governor, Karin Gaffney, will be visiting our club this Thursday, September 14.  We will be meeting at the Tavern at 6:00 p.m.
Please reply to Jan Luchetti at,  as soon as you open this email so we can get an accurate count for food.   It is VERY IMPORTANT to respond by Tuesday evening (12th) at the latest.
Second, the BOD has been asked to meet at 5:00 with the District Governor.
Please reply also to for the 5:00 BOD meeting.
Yes, it is earlier than our regular meetings and we will only do this once this year.
The golf outing has been cancelled for this week.
There is a benefit for first responders on Septemebr 27 and I invite all golfers to consider attending. Patty Macneil has the specifics.
See everyone Thursday and have a great week!
President WWRC 2017
Meeting Notes:
Lobsterfest was a huge success, everyone enjoyed the food and there was certainly plenty of it.
There was much discussion on disaster relief. We decided to reenter this subject for next week as there will be more information on the situation in Florida, etc.
We voted yes on updated our food costs (meal price per meeting)
We voted unanimously to donate our happy dollars for disaster relief, a total of $234
Long term reach for scholarship funding was discussed, most thought it was a good idea.
Phone calling for the Car Show will be on Wednesday, September 13th at the DeVito offices in Weston.
On September 14th our Rotary District Governor Terry Gafney will be attending our meeting. Be sure to attend.
We will NOT be meeting at the Weston Golf Club. Meeting location is the Josiah Smith Tavern in Weston.
