The Mission of the Wayland Police Department (WPD) is to work with all citizens to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community involvement.  Ed Burman, Chief of Police, is leading the Wayland Police Department in this mission.

Come and hear about the amazing initaitves the WPD are involved in and the ways they are reaching out to our communities.

The first one is the RAM Clinic Remote Area Medical  https://www.ramusa.org/ offering free, quailty healthcare. RAM provides pop-up medical clinics around the United States, offering quality dental, vision, and general medical care at no cost to patients.

The second one is "Shop With a Cop" where more than 600 kids get pick of toys during 'Shop with a Cop' event in December for the holidays.  Officers raise money all year for the holiday event and get to spend $50 on each child, but they often dip into their own pockets to make sure each kid goes home happy. The event has run for seven years and has served more than 2,000 children in Metro West, providing them with about $155,000 in gifts, clothing and food. It has had a positive impact on the relationship between kids and Police officers.

Registration recommended by Wednesday, January 15, 6:00 p.m.
