Let's kick-off the New Year with a lesson on PHOTOGRAPHY FOR NON-PHOTOGRAPHERS!
Have a cellphone with a fancy built-in camera, but don’t know how to use it? Want to take better photos on your travels or at family get-togethers? This night is for you!
We will start with a brief series of tips that Rotary Member Warren Green teaches in his photography class at the Columbia School of Journalism.
Then we will watch a video by famous photographer Rick Sammon, on “Travel Photography Using Only Your iPhone.” For his recent trip to Morocco, Rick left behind his fancy, expensive, heavy cameras and took only his iPhone 14 Pro. His photos are amazing. Rick shares his experiences and shooting suggestions– from sunrise to sunset, in bright light and in low light, and from start (image capture) to finish (processing). You’ll learn about the power and versatility of your cellphone’s multi-lens system and editing capabilities. His suggestions apply to any smartphone with a good built-in camera – iPhone, Samsung, Google, the suggestions will work for all of them.
