Club Names 4 Co-Presidents in unprecedented move

For the 2019-2020 Rotary year, the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland will be guided by four presidents, each of whom will preside for one quarter of the year. Richard DeVito, Jr. (far left) returns for a third "tour" to open the year, guiding the Club through the end of September, with the 25th Car Show as his primary focus. Rob Mosher, Edwin Gaw, and Mark Messina will preside for subsequent quarters. John Marchiony is President-elect and Jan Luchetti will provide guidance and support as the immediate Past President.

Other Innovative Rotary Initiatives
The Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland is actively looking for ways to innovate to expand the reach, impact and engagement with our communities. That said, the Club also celebrates traditions: the 2019 Antique and Classic Car Show on September 21 is the 25th annual edition. Before that, Rotarians started serving people who are homeless or seeking a cooked meal.
The Club has established an annual Scholarship Celebration Dinner where all organizations that grant scholarships to graduating Weston and Wayland High School seniors are invited to join our annual gathering to meet and celebrate their recipients.
To identify sophomores with a commitment to community service, the Club has morphed the Rotary Rising Youth Leadership Award program from a tight focus on the annual leadership conference in June to a recognition program that spans the entire sophomore academic year. Since creating the program in 2017, the Club has recognized 26 sophomores for their impressive contributions to their communities.
In 2018, in an effort to meet the call of the Rotary International President to celebrate Earth Day, the Club bought and distributed 200 trees to 1st graders in Wayland and Weston. In 2019, the Club distributed 450 trees after every single elementary school in both towns asked to participate.
